Woodcrest

We were so honored to work with Woodcrest Chapel

Sometimes I think people must think we're kinda wacky,

We had this rickety old couch with some pillows thrown on it...

I can only imagine what they must have thought:-)

But these folks had total faith in our creative ideas!

We've had the pleasure of working

with Pieter prior to this shoot.

We talked a little shop and gave him

some advice on camera equipment...

Hope we helped to make his decisions easier!

Congratulations!

OMG!

I'm so thrilled to announce that PPA

(Professional Photographers of America)

and the Illinois Workshops has awarded Sally a Scholarship,

which she will be using towards a

week long school this coming June:-)

Many other photographers applied for this scholarship

and Sally was one of two hand selected by the organization...

U go Girl!

She has signed up to work one on one with Julie Klaasmeyer,

a world renown child portrait photographer!

It such an amazing opportunity for her,

and I can't wait to see what new,

fabulous and creative ideas she'll bring back!

Happy Birthday Emery!

Happy 1st Birthday Emery!

Emery was dressed to a party girl 'T'

From her flower headband to her golden lil' shoes!

Although I wouldn't expect anything else

from our little fashionista in the making;-)

Kristin did such an amazing job decorating for the pary!

It looked like something out of a magazine!

This is Wyatt, Emery's older brother...

It's so refreshing to see the bond between a parent and child

especially between moms and sons

and dads and daughters:-)

Emery had a blast absolutely demolishing her cake!

What to do on Spring Break?

Introducing Brianna

(who btw likes to be called Bri, and so we shall refer to her as so:-))

This tween was such a bundle of energy...

and up for anything and everything!

Bri's dad Tommy wanted to do something for his gal,

and so he set up this photo session

for the grand finale of her Spring Break

They drove up to Columbia from St Louis just for her!

Friday Fun.Day was all about Bri!!!

Clear out the room folks!

Bri arrived with more clothes than I think I have in my closet,

and I gotta lot o clothes;-)

Such a lucky lady!

Bri had turned 11 in January...what a fabulous age!

We had such a great time with our little photo shoot:-)

What a beautiful smile!

I sometimes had a hard time getting a real "genuine" smile,

course who can smile on command, it's hard!

But leave it to dad. . .

they can always make their girls smile!

Love the Chuck Taylors!

I mean turquoise...ah, and the bright pink, just perfect!

Richelle honored a special request for curly hair!

She did a fabulous job and Bri absolutely loved it!

Loved these pictures at the park!

Bri had a perfect little pedicure with sparkly pink polish. . .

Seriously, love the feet!

She just looked so beautiful in the park, so sweet!

Bri had a fabulous time and it will be a day she'll never forget!

Lyla Jane

Oh how I have missed that precious face of Miss Lyla Jane!

Other than our webcam visits and pictures from mommy and daddy. . . .

I have been deprived of those sweet cheeks

since my trip up north to Wisconsin (her 6 wk photo shoot)

She is even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined!

Micah moved with her husband Jason

to Wisconsin while pregnant with Lyla. . .

I miss them so much!

These little trips made are so, sooo special

I feel fortunate that I am still able

to document Lyla's stages

even with them being so far away. . .

Micah and her headbands. . .

probably one of the girliest gals I know

and for her to have a little girl. . .how perfect:-)

During the shoot, Micah said that she needed

this exact outfit in a bigger size,

I don't think she wants to give it up;-)

Lyla loved grabbing those precious little feet!

And to top it off, she's one amazing momma:-)

Our next visit will be in Wisconsin

Ha! Well I say that now, but it's so hard to put that camera down!

Welcome to the World Baby Maclin

MACLIN RUSSELL BRETT

I visited Maclin in the hospital just one day after his birth!

What an adorable little guy!

Rusty and Allie are so happy!

It's such and amazing experience

to be able to see the love between

new parents and their baby:-)

Carson

Meet Carson...a man with many faces!

This is Carson's second visit to Stella Studios

and once again he was full of personality:-)

This is Carson's sour puss face.

He would smile one second and then give me this look...

I thought it was priceless:-)

I mean this is what it's all about...

capturing all the little expressions a child can and will dish out!

In his amazement, when Carson would put his sunglasses on

he immediately would comment on how dark it was.

Shades on..."Oh! It's dark in here!!"

Shades off..."Ah! I can see:-)"

Ok, I had to keep this pic!

Apparently there is a young man at Carson's daycare

who is quite the mischievous troublemaker.

So he thought he would demonstrate

what would happen when 'Avery Michael'

would get caught...

"No, NO! Avery Michael!!!" Carson would yell

And thus was the end of my shoot with Mr Gamlin...

Entertaining to say the least:-)

Can't wait to see him again next year!
